“Complete” and “master” are useful starting points, but the included checklist is what tells you what you are buying. Different games, expansions and sellers use these terms differently. Three examples from our catalog show why the count, finishes and exclusions deserve a closer look.
Example 1: a species collection versus an expansion
The Original 151 collection covers the original Pokémon species using Base, Jungle and Fossil cards plus Promo Mew. The 102-card Base Set covers one expansion, including its Trainer and Energy cards. Both can be complete within their stated scope.
Ask whether the number describes Pokémon species, numbered cards, or every included printing. A Pokédex collection is not automatically a complete collection of each expansion represented.
Example 2: non-holo and master Final Fantasy sets
Compare our 166-card Final Fantasy Opus V non-holo set with the 332-card Opus V master set. Here, the finish and card count distinguish the two listings. Read each checklist to confirm the versions included rather than assuming that the word “master” has the same meaning everywhere.
Example 3: explicit exclusions in a vintage listing
Our 113-card Legendary Collection set includes 110 regular set cards and three non-holo deck exclusives. Its listing explicitly excludes reverse foils. It should not be confused with a collection containing every reverse-foil counterpart.
The near-complete WOTC Black Star Promo collection is another useful example: it includes 51 numbered promos plus Ancient Mew, and excludes Pokémon Center #40 and Lucky Stadium #41. “Near complete” is a meaningful distinction.
A five-point comparison before you order
- Confirm the checklist scope: species, expansion, promotional series or themed collection.
- Check the total count and named exclusions.
- Check holo, non-holo, reverse-foil and other finish variants.
- Compare language, edition and condition. More cards do not necessarily mean better condition.
- Check the selected option’s availability. Pre-orders follow the dispatch window shown on the listing and in the FAQ.
If a checklist leaves a question open, contact us with the exact product and card you want to confirm. It is easier to settle the scope before buying than to discover a missing version after delivery.
