A collection of the original 151 Pokémon and a complete 1999 Base Set solve two different collecting goals. One follows the Pokédex; the other follows an expansion checklist. Here is how to choose between the sets we sell.

Original 151: collect the Pokémon you remember
Our Original 151 Complete Set brings together one of each original Pokémon using cards from the 1999 Base, Jungle and Fossil sets, plus a WOTC Promo Mew. The goal is a complete first-generation Pokédex in a binder. It is not three complete expansion sets combined.
All three holo options include all 16 Base Set holos, including Charizard, Blastoise and Venusaur. The 20+ and 25+ options add different amounts of Jungle and Fossil holos; the 45-holo option provides the maximum unique holo count offered in this 151-card collection. Read the product checklist for the exact scope and condition range.
Base Set: complete one expansion
Our 1999 Base Set collection follows the 102-card Base Set checklist. That checklist includes Pokémon, Trainer and Energy cards. A 102-card Base Set does not represent all 151 Pokémon.
| Collecting goal | Original 151 | Base Set |
|---|---|---|
| Organizing idea | One of each original Pokémon | One expansion checklist |
| Advertised card count | 151 | 102 |
| Sources | Base, Jungle, Fossil and Promo Mew | 1999 Base Set |

Condition and availability matter as much as the count
Compare the condition stated on each listing, not just its title. We also offer a Moderately Played to Damaged Base Set. A lower price can reflect more wear rather than fewer cards.
Check the selected option before ordering. An in-stock option can be purchased for normal fulfillment; an option labeled Pre-order is curated to order and has a longer dispatch window. Different holo options can have different availability. The product page and FAQ explain the current timing.
If you already own most of the collection
Buying singles may make more sense than starting again with a full set. You can compare listings for Base Set Charizard on TCGplayer or Base Set Blastoise on TCGplayer. Match the printing, language and condition carefully; a card name alone is not a like-for-like comparison.
