A Halloween Pokémon collection can be compact, colorful, and genuinely finishable. The 2022 Trick or Trade assortment contains 30 cards, but “30” is not a shared set denominator printed on every card. Understanding that detail saves a lot of checklist confusion.
Identify the year before counting
Pokémon’s 2022 Halloween announcement introduced three-card Trick or Trade packs with a pumpkin Pikachu stamp. Our 2022 Trick or Trade collection contains the 30 collection cards, not unopened booster bundles and not a current-year release. Later annual assortments need separate checklists.
These cards reuse cards from other expansions. Their collector numbers refer to those original appearances rather than running from 1/30 to 30/30. Match artwork, stamp, printed number, and annual checklist together.
Check the ten holo subjects
The 2022 holo group comprises Mewtwo, Gengar, Gourgeist, Mismagius, Dusknoir, Mimikyu, Hatterene, Chandelure, Darkrai, and Trevenant. Twenty other cards complete the assortment. Counting ten shiny cards is not sufficient: each must be the correct stamped version, and the non-holo group needs its own inventory.
Choose an arrangement you can audit
Four nine-pocket page sides provide 36 spaces. One simple layout puts nine holos on the first side, the tenth holo and eight non-holos on the second, nine more non-holos on the third, and the final three on the fourth. Alternatively, arrange evolution families together and maintain a separate checklist. Neither approach requires repeatedly removing cards to check progress.
Fill gaps by identity
If Gengar is missing, search for the 2022 Trick or Trade Gengar and inspect the final version before buying. A similar unstamped card from the original expansion does not finish this stamped collection. A later year’s stamped card may be a fun extra without filling the 2022 checklist.
Separate collecting from giveaway supplies
A completed binder can be a seasonal display or gift. Loose collection cards are not the same purchase as sealed three-card packs for handing out. Review the current listing contents before ordering for an event, and ask if the description leaves anything unclear.
For a Halloween sorting session, put treats on a different table and decorate the binder cover rather than the cards. Keep a small inventory note in one spare pocket stating “2022 assortment: 30 distinct cards.” It prevents next year’s additions from making this year’s completion harder to recognize.
