PokéTrivia (1999 Burger King × Pokémon) — Card List & Collector Guide
History, ID tips, the 20-sheet chase, and a full Original 151 checklist
What is PokéTrivia? In 1999 Burger King paired its Kids Meals with Pokémon toys and a promo card set called PokéTrivia, released alongside Pokémon: The First Movie — Mewtwo Strikes Back. Cards feature one of the original 151 on the front and a numbered “Collectible Movie Scene” on the back (10 scenes total).
Dates and distribution. The U.S. promotion ran from November 8, 1999 to December 31, 1999. Cards were packed with toys, and many U.S. stores also used nine-card perforated sheets for faster production.
Perforated “Master Trainer Collector’s Set” sheets. There are 20 unique uncut sheets that together cover the full roster. Collectors keep them intact or separate them into singles. Listings and collector checklists document all 20 sheets.
Back images. The reverse side shows a movie still and “Collectible Movie Scene” numbers 1–10 across the set.
How to identify versions
- Perforated sheets (U.S.): Nine connected cards with tear lines; often sold as “Master Trainer Collector’s Set” sheets numbered 1–20.
- Unperforated singles: Factory-cut cards included with toys.
- Backs: Ten “Collectible Movie Scene” images numbered 1–10 spanning the set.

FAQ
Are PokéTrivia cards part of the official TCG?
No. They are Burger King promotional cards tied to the movie, collected for nostalgia and display, not tournament play.
Do I need all 20 sheets to cover all 151 Pokémon?
Yes. The perforated “panel” checklist spans 20 sheets that map to the 151 roster.
